It’s a great way to ensure you’re on the same page as your client.
- Speaking on the phone breaks up the work day. Freelance writers, instead of emailing your clients call them. It gives you a break from typing a lengthy email. Plus, it gives your eyes a break from starring at the computer screen.
- Hearing your client’s voice is beneficial. You can get a “sense” if a client is satisfied or dissatisfied with your work. This is a great way to develop the client/writer relationship. You will be able to rectify anything straightaway versus waiting for an email.
Freelance writers do not stop email or other forms of communication. They are not bad forms of communication. However, it will serve you to become comfortable with phone communication. Remember, not all clients enjoy communicating via email. Some prefer phone communication. Make sure you’re flexible with your communication style so you don’t alienate clients.
