Pingback: How to Navigate the Content Marketing World - Savvy-Writer
Great post Amandah and I absolutely LOVE the infographic. I definitely have taken advantage of almost all of these. I have yet to do any “real” public speaking. About six years ago I headlined a Pro-Life rally and spoke there, but that doesn’t count because it had nothing to do with my business and content development, etc.
I also haven’t done a lot of social media ads. I’ve used Facebook ads and they work very well, but haven’t used any for quite awhile.
Thanks Sam! The infographic is a good one, and I had to share it.
Wow! You headlined a Pro-Life rally. To me, that counts. 🙂 It takes a lot of courage to stand in front of an audience and speak, especially when you believe in an idea, cause, or organization.
I’m dipping my toes into the world of public speaking. I finished the first draft of a presentation, which is based on a book I contributed to, and I am working on two other presentations. My first presentation is a priority because I have the opportunity to present it to my local chamber of commerce next year. I LOVE public speaking and have thought about starting a blog about it. Many people drag on and on. Booorrring! Plus, half the time the presentation is a sales presentation, all fluff, no substance. 😉
I’ve used Facebook and Google ads in the past, but I stopped. Perhaps I’ll create a Google ad, again. I have a couple of LinkedIn ads, but I need to tweak them.
It was a while ago and I had a burning fire inside me for that particular cause. I haven’t done it since. It was scary at first, but once I started, I relaxed and flew with it.
I’ve thought about joining the local Toastmasters here to get some practice with public speaking. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it and have talked to some people who’ve done it for years and loved it.
I might try Twitter ads and promotions. I liked Kim Garst’s post about them and it inspired me to at least consider it.
Thanks for the reminder about Toastmasters. It’s a wonderful organization and fantastic way to gain public speaking skills.
Twitter ads can work. 😉
