Freelance Artists and Designers Use a Website to Promote Your Work

I was looking for an illustrator for my client and was surprised that some of the illustrators didn’t have a website. You don’t have to be a web designer to have a basic website. You can use WordPress, Blogger, Yahoo Business, Weebly, or some other platform. A website is a cheap and easy way to promote you and your work. Create one today and watch as your freelance business grows.

If you have the funds, hire a web designer to create and upload your website. If you have an interest in web design, take a few classes or enroll in a certificate or Associates degree program. This way you can add ‘web designer’ to your repertoire.

Tip: If you’re a graphic designer, you can earn more income if you know web design.

Don’t be afraid to be online. When people meet you, they may ask you if you have a website. If you say “No,” you could lose potential clients. Your website doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Make sure it’s clean and easy to navigate and pleasing to the eye. You may want to avoid ‘shocking’ neon or bright colors. Sometimes these can deter people away from your website.

Freelance artists and designers if you don’t have a website consider getting one today. The internet is one way to market your work. You can capture a large audience by having an online presence. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on a website. Make it simple and accessible and people will visit your website. Good luck!
