With the economy being the way it is, a lot of people have been forced to reinvent their careers. This includes questioning what they’ll do to earn a living. Self-analysis and self-reflection doesn’t come easy for many people. They may question why they pursued their college degrees and career paths. Most of them listened to their parents who told them to work in career that provides job security. In fact, most of us were taught this in this school. This is why many people are shocked when their employer lays them off or fires them after 10 or more years of service. What happened to the promise of security? Unfortunately, it was an illusion. If you believe that a degree, marriage, home, or family will provide you with the security you need then you may be in for a rude awakening. However, if you want ‘true’ security, look inside of yourself to find the answers. You may discover a freelance writer who’s been dying to come out but who’s been placed in a corner for many years with tape on their mouth. Rip off the tape (Ouch!) and embrace freelance writing.

Hours are great. As a freelance writer, you create your own hours. Most work from 8 am – to 5 pm or work at night. Most clients don’t care when you work as long as you complete their projects on time.
You call the shots. If you want to work from home, you can. If you want to rent office space you can. If you want to paint your office a neon green instead of boring and safe beige, you can. You can decorate your office space anyway you want. As long as it works for you that’s all that matters.
You choose your clients. If you want to work with clients in the health and wellness industry, you can. If you strictly want to work with not-for-profits, you can. You choose your clients just as they choose you as their freelance writer.
You select your writing niche. Do you like to blog? What about writing 1000 word articles? How does writing bios strike you? What about web content? You can select as many niches as you’d like or stick with one. It’s your choice!
A career you love! If you’re passionate about words, freelance writing is for you. Become a freelance writer and you’ll have the privilege of doing something you love. How many people do you know that like what they do? Not too many. Be one of the few, the proud, — a freelance writer!
