New Look and Feel of the Savvy-Writer Newsletter

Has this happened to you?

You signed up with an email marketing provider thinking you’d be with them forever.

You envision publishing your newsletter, eBlasts, and autoresponders each month and feeling good about it.

But then you start working with templates and it’s not as user friendly as you thought.

Oh well. You close your account and move on to the next newsletter service.

Things are good and you stay with them for a few years. That is until the platform changes.

The look and feel is different. You try to work with it. But you feel it’s not user friendly.

What do you do? You close your account and try another service.

This is what I did.

Years ago, I used Constant Contact but then moved to AWeber. But lately, it wasn’t working for me.

I found myself getting frustrated with the user interface and felt that it was time for me to try a new email marketing service provider.

Which one is it? I won’t leave you in suspense. I’m using Mailchimp.

Sign up for the Savvy-Writer newsletter from Amandah Blackwell.

Mailchimp is easy to use. Are there things I would do to improve it? Yes there are. For example, if you want to delete something you have to type DELETE in the available field. I don’t know about you, but I have enough to do. A simple warning message would suffice. But that’s me.

What else?

For me, importing my list was a bit bumpy. Adding a field was easy, after I searched for “how to add a field.” Thank goodness Mailchimp has a good Search interface. I typed the keyword phrase ‘how to add a field to list’ and found an article that provided step-by-step instructions.

I haven’t figured out how to copy a campaign, yet. This was a nice feature in Constant Contact. No need to reinvent the wheel when it’s already been done!

Anyway…

Below, you’ll find my newsletter for November 18, 2015.

Take a look.

What’s included? You’ll find the following permanent sections:

  • Quote of the Day
  • The Right Content Matters
  • Copy That!
  • Article

I’ll include ‘specific’ information such as links to articles on select topics. I’ll also write a short post on a specific topic.

Got questions? Email me and I’ll answer them in the next newsletter. Why? Because someone else may have the same question as you. This way everyone benefits.

As of this point, I’m enjoying using Mailchimp and hope to be with them for a while.
